WELCOME - How Does it Work?

The key to how WELCOME works is in its Programs...

Adult Education

Adult Basic Education:
Using the Laubach Way to Reading as the core curriculum, students work with tutors in a one-to-one situation tailored to the needs of each individual. Every aspect of literacy, from letter recognition to comprehension to spelling and writing, is taught.

English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL):
This program focuses on the needs of students who come from other language backgrounds. Tutors emphasize conversation and vocabulary building.

High School Equivalency
GED Preparation & Other Adult Education Courses:

Adult learners ages 16 and up study writing, mathematics, social studies, science and reading skills in preparation for the exams required to receive a high school equivalency diploma of general education development. High School graduates may enroll in Adult Education classes to strengthen their skills in preparation for college.
